ParaPro Testing

The ParaPro Test cost $40 last year. I made arrangements for the test to be given right at my school. I contacted the Educational Service Center and one of their tech people loaded the test on the computers in one of our labs. Students get results immediately. I have not had any students fail, and I have given it for the last four years.

Patti, I would like to know a bit more about this. What benefits do the students get from taking this test?

When the students get a background check and get fingered printed they are qualified to be a classroom aide in any classroom in Ohio's public schools. They can leave high school and immediately begin working as an aide if they chose to not go to college or substitute as an aide while going to school.

Was there a cost to have them come out and load it on to your computers? I am looking into this for my students for next year. I don't know that I want to tackle it for this year.

No actually the ESC provided the service. I contacted them, they loaded it, we paid them the $40.00. The kids take it and know immediately if they pass. It's great! I include the $40.00 in their fees.
